Omaha Poker Hand Ranking
 |
The highest hand possible in Poker, combined of ace, king, queen, jack and ten of the same suit. |
 |
This is five consecutively ranked cards of the same suit. E.G: 2 of Spades, 3 of
Spades, 4 of Spades, 5 of Spades and 6 of Spades. The highest hand possible is
ace, king, queen, jack and ten of the same suit. This is known as a Royal Flush.
The lowest straight flush is Five, Four, Three, Two and Ace all of the same
suit. But even this will beat any of the hands that follow. |
 |
Four of the same rank of card with any fifth card. For example 5 of Spades, 5 of
Clubs, 5 of Diamonds and 5 of Hearts with any other card. The best being four
Aces and the lowest hand of four of a type being four Two's. |
 |
A full house is three cards of the same rank along with 2 other cards of the
same rank. For example 3 Tens and 2 Sevens. The highest Full House known as
'Full Aces' or 'Full House Aces' is when there are 3 Aces along with any other
pair. When comparing Full House's only the rank of the 3 of a rank cards are
counted, so 3 Kings and 2 Threes would beat 3 Queens and 2 Tens. |
 |
Any five cards of the same suit are known as a flush, they do not have to be in
any order. For example Jack of Spades, 8 of Spades, 6 of Spades, 4 of Spades and
3 of spades. When comparing flushes, the highest cards are first compared
followed by the second highest and so on, the flush with the highest high card
wins. The highest possible flush would therefore be Ace, King, Queen, Jack and
Nine of the same suit. |
 |
Any five consecutive cards they can be a combination of two suits or all four
suits. For example Queen of Clubs, Jack of Clubs, 10 of Spades, 9 of Clubs and 8
of Clubs is classed as a Straight as would be 10 of Spades, 9 of Clubs, 8 of
Hearts, 7 of Diamonds and 6 of Spades. Just like with a Straight Flush the
highest Straight is Ace, King, Queen, Jack, Ten also known as the 'Top
Straight'. The lowest Straight is Five, Four, Three, Two and Ace and is
sometimes known as a 'wheel'. |
 |
Any three cards of the same rank with any two other cards. For example Ten of
Spades, Ten of Hearts, Ten of Diamonds, Queen of Clubs and King of Spades. The
highest possible Triplet would be 3 Aces. Some players refer to Triplets as
Threes or Trips. |
 |
Any two cards of the same rank with any other two cards of the same rank. For
Example Two Tens and Two Eights with any other card. If you have to compare two
hands each with two pairs the ne with the highest pair wins if both high pairs
are equal then the second highest pairs are compared if they are equal the rank
of the other card is considered. The highest rank being the winners. |
 |
Any two cards of the same rank with any other 3 cards of different ranks. For
example Two Eights with any other three cards. Again to compare two hands that
each have a pair the pairs are compared first the highest winning if they are
equal then the hands next highest cards are compared and so on until one hand is
found to be the better. |
 |
A hand without even a pair is known as the card name high or no pair. For
example If you had Jack of Clubs, 9 of Spades, 7 of Hearts, 6 of Diamonds and 2
of Spades your hand would be Jack High. If no other player has a pair or rank
above then the player with the highest card wins if both the highest cards in a
round are equal then the next highest cards are compared and so on until the
best hand is determined. |
